BACH DAMAGED BY FIRE
Fire caused severe damage to the interior and exterior of a small bach at the rear of a house at 52 Barbour street, Linwood, yesterday morning. The contents, including cooking equipment and bedding, were also damages. Two units from the Central and Wooiston stations of the Christchurch Fire Brigade answered the call at 10.24 a.m. When the brigade arrived the blaze already had good hold, but it was soon extinguished. At 10.28 a.m. a unit from the St. Albans station was called to a house at 303 Clyde road. Fendalton, occupied by Mr E. J. Barkle. The fire was in the oven where pegs, put there to dry, had caught alight. No damage was done. At midday a rubbish fire at the Empire Rubber Mills, Woolston, was put out. There was no damage. Two units from the Central and Woolston stations attended.
