HURUNUI LICENSING COMMITTEE

NO APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSFER

No applications for transfers of licences came before the annual meeting of the Hurunui Licensing Committee at Rangiora. Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M., presided, and other members of the committee were Messrs N. R. Wilkinson, C. W. Tyler, H. R. Taylor, and ’E. P. Shier.

New licences were issued for hotels as follows: —Railway (Amberley), Robert Grigor; Junction (Rangiora), Leonard Frederick Woodsford; Royal (Leithfield), Gavin Maurice Coffey; Royal (Woodend), Kevin Bernard Fowke.

Renewals of licences were granted as follows:—Red Lion (Rangiora), Albert Joseph Deyell; Harewood Arms (Oxford), William Henry Haile; Great Northern (Waikari), William George Jennings Traill; Waipara (Waipara), Hector Thomas Prebble; Pier (Kaiapoi), Thomas James Hendren; Hurunui (Hurunui-accommodation), Gerald Joseph Barnard; Mandeville (Kaiapoi), Richard Henry Bates; Commercial (Oxford), James Thomas Tisdall; Kaikanui (Kaiapoi), Ipma Evelyn Brown; Culverden (Culverden), Beatrice Lavinia Gudsell; Sefton (Sefton), Gerald Lloyd; Lodge (Hanmer), Cedric Russell Anthony de Jetley; Star and Garter (Waikari), Albert George Whittington; New Ashley (Ashley). Noel Francis Gillespie; Masonic (Southbrook), James McClung; Plough (Rangiora), Colin Mcßeath Mackenzie; Amberley (Amberley). Alexander (Kaiapoi) was granted a renewal of a wine-seller’s licence. Basil A. Fitzpatrick and Company, Ltd., (Rangiora) was granted a renewal of a wholesale licence.
