CANTERBURY MATCHES The Canterbury Badminton Association played a match against Southland, at Oamaru. Results (with Canterbury names first): — Men’s Singles.—R. Mcfield lost to P. Skelt, 5-15, 5-15; A. Roberts lost to A. Skelt. 2-15, 7-15; R. Pattinson beat N. Thompson, 15-11, 3-15, 15-3; D. Reid beat J. Speers. 15-13, 15-10. Women’s Singles.—Mrs M. Jeffreys lost to Mrs J. Adams, 11-12, 5-11, 1-11; Miss J. Snow beat ~-iss S. Miller. 6-11, 12-10, 12-10; Miss W. Wall lost to Mrs Skelt, by default; Miss D. Hall lost to Mrs Farmer, 2-11, 4-11. Men’s Doubles. —Pattinson and Roberts lost to Skelt and Skelt, 5-15, 7-15; Macefield and Reid beat Speers and Thompson. 12-15. 15-7, 15-3.
