Argentine Base In - Antarctic
(Rec. 11 p.m.) BUENOS AIRES, June 6. The Argentine Army said today it had set up a new base on the Antarctic continent “to reinforce our indisputable sovereignty in that continent.” The new base is near the tip of the Trinidad or Louis' Philippe peninsula. Its size was not given. Argentina, Chile, and Britain have had disputes over their conflicting claims to territory in the South Atlantic and Antarctic regions.
