Unlawfully on Premises.— Gerald Thomas Woods, a steward in the overseas ship Galavale, was charged before Messrs W. G. Salmon and R. E. Cairns/ Justices of the Peace, in the Lyttelton .Magistrate’s Court yesterday with being found unlawfully on the premises of the Empire Hotel but without intent of committing any other offence. He was further charged with damaging a cell can to the extent of £2. He pleaded not guilty to the first charge and guilty to the second.. Woods was convicted and fined £5 on the first charge and on the second charge he was ordered to pay the amount of the damage.
