DEMAND FOR LAMB MAINTAINED The Smithfield wholesale meat market reopened after the Whitsun holiday to a good demand, according to a report from the London office of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. Moderate pitchings of frozen beef covered requirements at firm levels. Demand for New Zealand lamb was well maintained at unchanged prices, and there was a fair, inquiry for light supplies of New Zealand mutton at firm prices.
