AUCKLAND CLUB "The Press’’ Special Service AUCKLAND, June 2. The weather has cleared a good deal, but there is a chance of further rain, and the ground at Ellerslie this morning was heavy. At the best, the track will be verv soft for the first day of the Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting on Saturday. Man is lame and a doubtful starter at the meeting. On the first day, he is an acceptor for the Hunt Hurdles. The double will be on the Great Northern Hurdles and the Cornwall Handicap. Riding engagements include:— J. J.
