Sir,—No government wants old people; they hate the sight of them. Mr Walsh got 30s a week for workers to pay for a part of the increased cost of Hying, and Mr Holland gave the old-timet 2s 6d for the same thing. The Labour Party put up a very poor fight for us. Big headlines appeared in your press “Help for the Aged,” but the benefit is still £3 10s. Headlines are no good these cold nights.—Yours, etc., T OVER SEVEN OH. June 2, 1955.
