JUDGE ADVOCATEGENERAL
MR H. R. WILD APPOINTED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 26. The appointment of Mr H. R. C. Wild as Judge Advocate-General of the Army was announced by the AttorneyGeneral (Mr J. R. Marshall) today. Mr Wild will succeed Mr C. A. I_. Treadwell, whose retirement was announced earlier this week. The appointment was part of the reorganisation of the Army legal service on lines Bdopted in Britain, which included the setting-up of a Judge Advocate-General’s Depart!’.ent on a civilian basis to act in a judicial and advisory capacity, said Mr Marshall. Mr Wild was educated at the Feilding High School and Victoria University College. He volunteered at the outbreak of World War II and served in the Middle East He became brigade major of the 4th Armoured Brigade. He returned to New Zealand in 1945. In 1949 he was appointed legal staffofficer at Army Headquarters, a parttime appointment.
