BAND ELECTS OFFICERS The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Lyttelton Marine Band: Patron, Mr W. T. Lester; president, Mr F. G. Briggs; conductor, Mr F. J. Oakley; bandmaster. Mr P. L. Miller; secretary, Mr R. Crocker; treasurer, Mr R. H. Duff; librarians, Messrs J. Felstead and R. Stechman; custodian, Mr R. Keyes; committee; the officers and Messrs A. Couling, W. Hendricks and J. E. Adams; auditor, Mr J. Thompson; delegates to the Canterbury Brass Bands’ Association, Messrs Oakley and Crocker. Special Meeting of Council A special meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council was held last evening, when special orders were passed authorising the transfer of £1027 from the general account to be used to pay annual charges on the Diamond Harbour water and sewage supplementary loan; granting a licence to the Vacuum Oil Company (N.Z.), Ltd. to lay a pipe-line to be used to transport the company’s products from Godley quay, Voelas road, Harmans road, and the Heathcote fi rm property; granting ® licence to the Shell Oil Company of New Zealand, Ltd. to lay a pipe-line to be used to transport the company’s products along Cyrus Williams quay; granting a licence to the Vacuum Oil Company (N.Z.), Ltd. to lay a pipeline to be used to transport the company’s products along Godley quay to Naval Point; and granting a licence to Europa Oil (N.Z.), Ltd. to lay a pipe-line to be used to transport the company’s products along Cyrus Williams quay.
