WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Styx.—The monthly meeting of the Styx branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held in the Papanui R.SA. hall. Mrs Rule presided. Competitions were as follows: —Tumbler: Mrs I. Stirling. Single bloom: Mrs Monkman. Cooking: Mrs Goss. Sewing: Mrs F. Spencer. Spike: Mrs G. Pearce. Roon Hay.—Mrs Rountree presided at the monthly meeting of the Hoon Hay branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs Bennett in her recent bereavement. A report of the executive meeting was given by the president. Invitations to birthday parties from Styx and Yaldhurst were received and accepted. Members were reminded of the residential school at Te Kitiroa in June. A demonstration on the making of handbags and flower pictures was given by Mrs Chapman. Deans, who is leaving the district, was bidden Lyndon-Waiau.—Mrs Sunckell presided at the May meeting of the Lyndon-Waiau branch of Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Letters of appreciation were received from members for flowers while in-hospital. It .was decided to send two delegates to the Dominion conference.
