Conservatives Gain Support
(Rec. 8 pjn.) LONDON, May 19. This week’s Gallup poll published by the “News Chronicle” Aows that backing for the Conservatives in the General Election is still rising. Their lead over Labour is now 31 per cent., which Is a rise of 1 per cent, over last week. The number of persons who ■still have not made up their minds how they are going to vote remains at 13 per cent.—the same as last Week. The political correspondent of the paper comments that the latest figures “introduce for the first time the possibility of a landslide victory on May 26”—a majority of at least 105 seats.
