Time Extended For Refugees
(Rec. 11 p.m.) HONG KONG, May 20. The North Vietnam Government announced today that it was extending for one more month the time allowed under the Geneva Agreement for refugees to evacuate to South Vietnam, the North Vietnam News Agency reported. Britain had requested, through Russia, an extension of the May 18 deadline set by the 1954 Geneva Conference on Indo-China to allow refugees to cross the border separating North and South Vietnam.
The North Vietnam News Agency reported that the Government’s de-
cision was communicated to the International Supervisory and Control Commission in Vietnam last night.
