TOUR OF POLICE DISTRICTS
NEW CONTROLLER’S \ PLANS MONTH’S ITINERARY IN NORTH ISLAND (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 20. The Controller-General of the Police Force (Mr S. T. Barnett) will start an extensive tour of North Island police districts next Thursday. Mr Barnett said tonight that the tour would probably take a. month or five weeks. ‘ “I want to meet my officers, to try to get an understanding of their problems,” he said. Though details of his itinerary are not yet complete, Mr Barnett will first visit Palmerston North and Wanganui. From there he will go to Taiunaranui, to Auckland on Monday week, and then to North Auckland.
