WORK FOR LORETO COLLEGE
TREASURER OF COMMITTEE HONOURED
Mr E. A. O’Connor, treasurer of the Loreto College Parents’ Committee since its inception about six years ago, was entertained at a function at the college last evening. Mr O’Connpr, who is assistant manager, of the Cashel street branch of the Australia and New Zealand Bank, has been transferred to Hawera as branch manager for the bank. During Mr O’Connor’s term as treasurer of the Loreto College committee, he was responsible for all financial arrangements, and handled more than £3OOO, which has been spent by the committee on improvements at the school.
At last evening’s function there was a musical programme. Mr and Mrs O’Connor were presented with an inscribed canteen of cutlery, and Mrs O’Connor also received a bouquet. The Rev. Father P. Timoney, parish priest at Papanui, paid a tribute to Mr O’Connor’s work on behalf of the Sisters of Loreto.
