WOMEN’S PENTATHLON

Sir,—ln a report of a meeting of the executive of the Canterbury. Centre New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, printed in your paper .on April 15, I was amazed to read that Mr M. Craighead said that the women’s pentathlon was not yet an official Canterbury title and would have to be added to the constitution at the next annual meeting of the centre. As a delegate at the last annual meeting, Mr Craighead must have known that a notice of motion moved by the Technical College Club, asking for a women’s pentathlon to be added to the championships for women, was carried.—Yours, etc., . . ■ DELEGATE. April 18, 1955.

[“The correspondent is correct. The lapse-of memory appears to have been common to everyone present at the meeting,” shid Mr M. R. Craighead in his reply to this letter.]
