WIDOW’S CLAIM SETTLED
£2OOO FOR DEATH OF HUSBAND Approval of a settlement of a claim by a widow for the death of her husband was given by Mr Justice McGregor in the Supreme Court yesterday. Mary Dyer ’ a widow (Mr B. McClelland), on behalf of herself and her 15-year-old son, Malcolm Walter Dyer, claimed against Gilbert Henderson, a labourer (Mr C. S. Thomas), for the death of her husband, Josenh Galbraith Dyer, on July 16, 1954, 'as the result of a collision with Henderson’s car. The claim was settled for £2OOO general damages and £6l Is special damages. The general damages were apportioned between mother and son m the ratio of £1750 to £250.
