DOMINION’S EXPORT INCOME
SOCIAL CREDIT LEAGUE POLICY (New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, April 18. In present conditions, the New Zealand economy was wide open to attack through the export trade, said Mr R. G. Young, deputy-leader of the Social Credit League, today. It was now generally recognised that the very foundation of the nation was a successful farming community assured of satisfactory prices in New Zealand money for its exports; irrespective of overseas prices, he said. The league, if it became the Government, would guarantee farmers a “floor price” wherever desired to cover all costs and a reasonable margin of profit. This would not be done out of taxation or with borrowed money, but would be achieved by a change of financial policy, Mr . Young said.
