“A MISSING BUS”

Sir, —Perhaps Mr Fardell will kindly inform the residents of YaldHurst road where the 5.15 p.m. bus to Cutts road disappeared to today. Apart from the very poor service, i.e. a wait of 25 minutes between buses at least, during the peak periods, and in some cases over an hour’s wait during the slack periods, it appears that the Transport Board cut out a bus during the time when workers are trying to get home. I had the pleasant experience of waiting from 4.55 p.m. till 5.40 p.m before I could get transport home. Perhaps Mr Fardell can cut some Clyde road buses out and switch them up to Yaldhurst road, or, alternatively, extend a few of the Clyde road buses so that they run to Coach Corner or Cutts road.—Yours, etc., DISGRUNTLED PASSENGER.

March 29, 1955. [“The 5.15 p.m. bus to Cutts road ran on that day, but owing to a mistake, it failed to stop at Lichfield street. Apologias are extended to anybody who was not able to board the bus at Lichfield street,” said the General Manager of the Christchurch Transport Board (Mr J. F. Fardell), in answer to this letter.]
