HOUSE SOLD FOR £7100
MONCKS BAY PROPERTY AUCTIONED
Bidding was particularly brisk from the large number of persons present when a two-storey house at 256 Main road, Moncks Bay, was offered at auction in, Christchurch yesterday. Bidding opened at £6500, and rose in bids of £lOO to £7OOO, and of £5O to £7lOO, for which the property was sold.
A property at 38 Mount Pleasant road was passed in at £ 6250. Opening at £5OOO, the price rose in five £250 bids, but failed to reach the reserve price. When the highest bid for a property at 54 Cornwall street, St. Albans, was £3250, the auctioneer referred the figure to the owner for consideration. Bidding opened at £2BOO, and rose in three bids of £lOO to £3lOO, and three of £5O.
