REMIT FOR CHANGE WITHDRAWN CHRISTCHURCH CENTRE MEETING A remit proposing a new basis for the New Zealand championships, sent in to the Christchurch Bowling Centre, was withdrawn at a meeting of the centre last evening without being discussed. The remit was as follows: “That the New Zealand Bowling Association take into consideration the holding of the annual tournament in the four main centres in New Zealand. “That the tournaments be held between Christmas and New Year and continue after New Year.

“That each centre arrange its own section and post-section play to And the four winners of the fours, pairs, find singles. “That the four winners of the two sections in the South Island play off to find the four finalists of the South, and the North finalists likewise.

M The finalists of the North and South Island play off at a place to be appointed by the New Zealand Bowling Association. “That each ’centre arrange its own section, taking entries from any club in New Zealand. “That a charge for admission to spectators be made to all post-section and final games in all centres.”

The executive had given consideration to the matter and had come to the conclusion that it could not be discussed, as it had not been submitted in order, said the president (Mr G. Macdonald). It went to members on a notice as being from the Opawa Club.

Mr F. Larcombe (Opawa) said there were four members of his club to represent various clubs and the remit was put forward by one of those in the name of the Opawa Club. "As club, we considered it was out of order, in that if we had approved this remit there would be no limit to who could put a remit forward to the centre without our sanction. There could be a remit put forward that would be a retrograde step that we would be no party to. J 'This was sent in without the sanction of the Opawa Club, and we did not have an opportunity of discussing it,” he said. He wished it to be known that no responsibdity for the remit could be attached to the secretary of the Opawa Club, said Mr G. T.
