“Communists Hesitant About War”
(Rec. 8 p.m.) TORONTO, April 18. All the evidence of the last 10 years pointed to the fact that the Soviet leaders’ were hesitant to pursue by war their aim of world domination. Sir Pierson Dixon, Britain’s permanent delegate to the United Nations, said today.
“Whether the Chinese are as cautious as the Russians we cannot at the moment know,” he added.
“Estimates vary. But one cannot think that the hard-headed men who have fought‘and worked for so long to gain control in China will wish to throw it all away in the colossal gamble of war.” Sir Pierson Dixon was addressing the Men’s Canadian Club.
