INDUSTRIES FAIR PREPARATIONS

RECORD NUMBER OF EXHIBITORS

A record number of more than 100 exhibitors—compared with the usual 40 to 45—will take part in the New Zealand Industries Fair, which will open on April 29. This was reported to the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association last evening by the chairman of the fair committee (Mr L. H. Govan). Some 250 entries had been received for the arts and crafts section of the show, entries for which closed last week. Judging would take place this week.

Five technicians would arrive today to commence erection of the prefabricated Government Court. The Post Office exhibit—a miniature post office which would handle all general postal work—was completed.
