“NO CIRCULAR SENT OUT”
DIVISION EXPLAINS PROCEDURE ‘(New Zealand Press Association, WELLINGTON, April 18. A spokesman for the Price Control Division said today that no circular had been sent out to wholesale footwear firms as had been suggested by an Auckland wholesaler. The spokesman said that an application had recently been' lodged for the decontrol of the footwear manufacturing industry. To allow it to be considered, information had to be obtained from the wholesale and retail sections of the industry as well as the manufacturing side. It was normal practice in these circumstances for officers to call on firms concerned “to discuss various points.” The spokesman said that an officer called on two or three Auckland firms. To facilitate discussion and because all the questions could not be answered immediately, some heads of questions were left with one or two of the firms for later discussion.
