N.Z. INVITATION NOT ACCEPTED

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 18. "If they cannot hold the meeting here when the Springboks are visiting us, then they will never come. This means that there will be no meeting of the International Board outside the British Isles,” said Mr J. H. Parker, when the executive committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union was advised today that the International Board could not accept the Invitation to hold the 1956 meeting in New Zealand. The board’s letter said that Brigadier J. R. Page (New Zealand) and Mr Saunderson (South Africa) had supported the invitation and the general principle of holding occasional meetings In one or other of the Dominions. After discussion, and having noted the views of the Home unions, the board regretted not being able to accept. It was agreed that the proposal would at some later date receive the earnest attention of the Home unions.

FEES FOR BROADCASTING OF MATCHES (New Zealdhd Press Association) WELLINGTON, April . 18. The New Zealand Rugby Union was notified today that payment of an additional fee for the broadcasting of each Rugby match played during the season by any overseas team had been authorised. Messrs C. S. Hogg, J. H. Parker, J. N. Millard, and the secretary (Mr G. H. Geddes) were appointed to confer with the 'broadcasting authorities on the fee. ASSOCIATION CODE PROPOSED TOUR BY CHINESE TEAM (New Zealand Press Association) n AUCKLAND, April 18. The Hong Kong Football Association has advised the New Zealand Football Association that it is willing to send a team to New Zealand in June or early July. Mr J. A. Cowie, acting-secretary and treasurer of the New Zealand council, visited Auckland yesterday to discuss the proposals with Auckland officials. The terms submitted by the Hong Kong association were not disclosed, but it is understood that they are in excess of the New Zealand offer of £2OOO and 20 per cent, of the profits of nine games.
