WINGATUI TEAM FOR BLENHEIM

“The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN, April 18. The Wingatv.i trainer, J. A. Wilson, is to leave on Wednesday for Blenheim with Johnny Peep, Triumphal Star, Craig, and Desert Cloud. The team will race at the Marlborough Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday and Tuesday, and will then compete at the Nelson Jockey Club’s meeting on April 30 and May 2. The stable jockey, R. J. Skelton, will accompany the team. Superdowa, which over-reached and cut a tendon during the running of the Peerswick Hurdle Race at Riccarton on Saturday, was omitted from the team. The injury is not severe, but it will keep him on the easy list for a time. Johnny Peep made a fresh start at the Beaumont meeting early this month, and showed speed to lead into the straight, but drifted in the run home to finish fifth. He also showed speed in the Waltham Handicap at Riccarton on Saturday. Triumphal Star was placed at Cromwell and Oamaru, but was not prominent in her two races at Riverton.

Craig, which is raced by Mr A. Chisholm, of Otautau, has had two starts since he was transferred to Wingatui. His fourth placing at Beaumont was not very impressive, and he failed to show up in his race at Riverton, in which he was sent out 3-4 in the betting. Desert Cloud, a half-sister by Massowa to Grey Boots, has not raced since September, when she was unplaced in the McLean Stakes and the Juvenile Handicap at Wingatui. F
