MILK TESTS IN MARCH
SAMPLING OFFICER’S REPORT Sixteen samples of milk, out of 506 analysed during March, failed to pass the test for solids other -than fat, according to the report of the milk sampling officer (Mr J. W. Huggins) presented to the meeting of the Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board yesterday. Twelve samples failed to pass the four-hour reductase test. All samples passed the test for fat content. Details of the tests for each firm were as follows: Christchurch Milk Company (Barbadoes street, Sydenham and Spreydon), 276 samples analysed, 6 deficient in solids other than fat, 5 failed to pass reductase test; Christchurch Milk Company (Hare wood Dairy), 69, 2,2; W. Wright, 69, 6,0; ,W. M. Duncan, 46, 0,1; C. Chappell 46, 2, 4. The Christchurch Milk Company’s 44 samples of cream all passed the test for fat content and the reductase test. Five of Wright’s Dairy’s 22 cream samples failed to pass the reductase test
