MISS JUDY BURKE MARRIED
N.Z. TENNIS CHAMPION (New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 16. The New Zealand singles 'and doubles women’s tennis champion, Miss Judy Burke, was married in New Plymouth this afternoon to Mr W. J. Tinnock, of Auckland, who represented the Dominion as a rower at the Olympic and Empire Games. One of Miss Burke's bridesmaids was her doubles partner, Miss Elaine Becroft, Auckland, and Mr Tinnock’s best man was Mr Bruce Culpan, of Auckland, an Empire Games rower. Miss Burke said today that she would continue to play -tennis after her marriage, but she did not expect to be able to take it so seriously as she had. She and her husband will live at Torbay, on Auckland’s North Shore, and the distance of her home from the nearest courts will prevent regular practice.
