THEOLOGICAL POST IN AUSTRALIA
APPOINTMENT OF N.Z. MINISTER (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 11. The Rev. Dr. Francis William Rutherford Nichol, M.A., 8.D., Ph.D., has been chosen by the special selection committee of the Presbyterian Church for the position of Director of Theological Studies in Western Australia. He will also become minister of South Perth.
A New Zealander, aged 30, Dr. Nichol graduated in 1949 from Knox College, Dunedin, and under a Hall, Travelling Scholarship awarded through the Melbourne College of Divinity, studied in England, Scotland, and the United States.
In 1952 he was ordained and inducted into the parish of St. Andrews, South Canterbury, and since his return to New Zealand has also acted as correspondence tutor for the Presbyterian Church.
