(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, April 2. Archie Scott Brown, a 32-year-old onehanded Cambridge tobacco salesman, won the British Empire Trophy motor race at Oulton Park, Cheshire, today. He was driving a Lister Bristol. Ken McAlpine (Britain), driving a 1955 streamlined Connaught, was second, and Reg Parnell (Britain) at the wheel of a new 21-litre Aston Martin, was third. Scott Brown covered 25 laps of the rain-drenched course at an average speed of 73.52 miles an hour.
Three officials and one driver were seriously injured when two cars spun off the track during the preliminary heats of the race.
