MRS CORLETT TO RESUME TRAINING (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 1. The world and Olympic Games broad jump record-holder, Mrs Yvette Corlett, of Auckland, will begin training soon for the shot and discus events at the Olympic Games in Melbourne next year. Since her triple victory at the Empire Games in Vancouver last August, she has done no training at all—her first break for more than six years. Mrs Corlett will not ignore the broad jump, but unless she achieves results that closely approach her best performances, she will not defend her title at Melbourne. She is most hopeful about her prospects in the discus and shot—particularly the discus.
