PARLIAMENTARY EXCHANGES

Soviet Seeks Action On Proposal (Rec. 10 p.m.) MOSCOW, March 20. “Pravda,” the Soviet Communist Party newspaper, said today that the Parliaments of Britain, France, Western Germany, and Italy had so far not found time to debate the recent resolution of the Supreme Soviet (Russia i Parliament) proposing closer relations between them.

‘The Supreme Soviet has appealed to the Parliaments of all countries with a proposal to establish direct links between Parliaments, to organise the exchange of Parliamentary delegations, and to make it possible for the delegation of one country to address the Parliament of another country, which would undoubtedly conform to the strivings of the peoples to develop friendly relations and international collaboration,” said “Pravda.”

“No doubt, certain circles in the West European Parliaments are afraid of widening their links with the Parliaments of the Socialist countries, as this would run counter to the Western policy of fencing their countries off from the Socialist States with the aid of an Iron Curtain.”
