The Mentone trainer, F. W. Hoysted, said last night that Rising Fast definiteiy would not run in the Alister Clark at Moone « Valley on Saturday. Although Rising Fast is galloping well, I consider he may still be a trifle underdone for a hard race, and I won’t run him on Saturday," Hoygted said. He cabled the horse'# owner, Mr L. R. Spring, at Whakatane, to thi* effect after Rising Fast had done a dashing trial over six furlongs at Mentone yesterday morning. Rising Fast is entered for the St. George Stakes, nine furlongs, at weight-for-age. at Caulfield on Saturday week, but because of Hoysted’s statement, it is thought he may prefer to wait for the Futurity Stake* a week later.
