ROTARY FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIP
AWARD TO NELSON WOMAN (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 22. Miss. Judith E. E. Hodgson, of Nelson, has been awarded a Rotary Foundation fellowship for advanced study abroad during the academic year 1955-56. Advice of this was received in Wellington yesterday from the Rotary International headquarters at Evanston, Illinois. Miss Hodgson was sponsored for her fellowship by the Rotary Club of Nelson, and will study modem languages and literature at one of the major European universities. The daughter of Mr and Mrs C. B. Hodgson, of 16 Ngatitama street, Nelson, Miss Hodgson was educated at the Nelson Girls’ College. In 1953 she took a bachelor of arts degree at Canterbury University College, and. last month passed the examination for a master’s degree. She has been awarded New Zealand junior and senior national scholarships, and received numerous honours, among them the Ada Gresham gown for the most distinguished woman graduate of 1953.
