CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH MEETS Mrs Janet Williams presided at the first meeting for the year of the Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society. : She welcomed back Mrs W. Pryce after six months’ leave of absence be- . cause of illness. A statement on the dinner dance held last November, showing a profit « of £l7B, was received. The committee responsible for the danpe was ac--1 corded a hearty vote of thanks. Mrs Williams reported that another such , dance was being arranged for next No- • vember. Arrangements were made for , a surprise parcel stall to be held in the Square in April and a jumble sale i to be held in March. Mrs Williams reported that Messrs ’ J. Ballantyne and Company, Ltd., had . offered the Plunket Society the entire proceeds of the millinery parade soon ’ to be held in Elizabeth House. Miss B. Helliwell, charge sister, reported for the month: —New baby cases, 292; visits to homes of babies, 1749; visits of babies to rooms, 3068. Miss J. Horner, matron of Karitane Hospital, reported for the month:— Mothers admitted, 15; babies admitted, 31; mothers discharged, 19; babies discharged, 38; twins admitted, 4; premature babies admitted, 7; premature babies discharged, 8.
