REUNION OF BLINDED SERVICEMEN
CHRISTCHURCH MEETING THIS WEEK
The triennial reunion of the St. Dunstan’s New Zealand Blinded Servicemen’s Association will he held in Christchurch this week. About 65 former servicemen—lB of them veterans of the First World War and one who served in Korea—will attend the function of welcome on Thursday morning with their wives and escorts. The Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P.) will welcome men from many parts of New Zealand to Christchurch.
The reunion, which will continue until Saturday, will be the first to be held in Christchurch for 12 years. A ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph outside the Christchurch Cathedral on Saturday morning. Functions arranged for the men include dinners, dances, and a smoke concert.
Mr J. R. Hines, of Redcliffs, is president of the association.
