MR HOLLAND’S TOUR
RETURN TO N.Z. ON MARCH 8
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 21. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) is expected to arrive at Auckland on March 8 on his return from the London conference of the Commonwealth Prime Ministers. He will travel to Wellington by train the same night. Mr Holland has advised the ActingPrime Minister (Mr K. J. Hotyoake) that he will leave London next Wednesday, flying to New Zealand by way of Malaya and Australia. He will have official talks in both these countries. While in Malaya Mr Holland will meet the New Zealand Minister of External Affairs (Mr T. L. Macdonald), who is leading the New Zealand delegation at the Bangkok conference of the S.E.A.T.O. Powers. Mr Holland and Mr Macdonald expect to inspect in Malaya areas of interest to New Zealand because of the decision, already announced, to transfer there the Royal New Zealand Air Force squadron from Cyprus and part of No. 41 (Transport) Squadron from New Zealand. With them will'be the Army Chief of Staff (Major-General W. G. Gentry), who was military adviser to Mr Holland at the London conference, and the Chief of the Air Staff (Air Vice-Marshal W. H. Merton). The two New Zealand Ministers are also to have talks with the United Kingdom Commissioner-General for South-east Asia (Mr Malcolm MacDonald), and they may also visit the Fiji Battalion serving in Malaya. Among the official talks which Mr Holland is to have in Australia is a meeting with Mr G. L. Aiderton, the New Zealand High Commissioner.
