Fast Tasman Crossing.— The Tasman Empire Airways airliner Arabia yesterday crossed the Tasman Sea in what is believed to be record time for a commercial aircraft. Comamnded by Captain J. R. McGrane and carrying 45 passengers, the DC-6 left Sydney at 4.2 a.m. New Zealand time and arrived at Whenuapai four hours 19 minutes later. The aircraft was assisted by winds up to 30 knots.—(P.A.)
