MINOR FIRES
A grass fire at 11 Ombersley terrace was put out by units from the Central and Sydenham stations of the Christchurch Fire Brigade at 4.3 p.m. yesterday. There was no damage. Damage to the interior walls of a kitchenette of a house at 23 Rata street was done by a fire at 4.29 p.m. The house is occupied by Mr Barnett Smith, and two units attended the fire. At 8.6 pjn. there was a call to a fire in tree stumps on a vacant section at Sockbum. A unit from the central station and a fire fighting unit of the Paparua County Council put out the fire.
