American Aid For Persia

(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) WASHINGTON, Nov. 2. The United States Government announced today it was offering Persia 127,300,000 dollars in loans and grants to tide over the Persian economy while the oil industry is brought back to full production. Persia recently settled its long dispute with the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, whose refinery and other properties had been out of production since they were nationalised several years ago. The resumption of the oil business is expected to yield 400,000,000 dollars for Persia during the next three years. It is expected to take several months more, however, to achieve an appreciable output.
