INCREASE IN STUDENTS REPORTED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 4. An increasing number of students for the ministry was reported to the Presbyterian General Assembly today. Presenting the report of the Theological Hall Committee, the! Rev. J.!M. McKenzie said that in 1943 there were 89 students in the hall, and at the university; in 1953 there were 102 and thia year there were 114. In addition, there were six students in the Church’s Maori Theological College. During the year 21 men had been accepted as students for the ministry, but the number was still insufficient for the growing needs of the Church, and there are still maiiy parishes without ministers.
