MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
ACCUSED FOUND NOT GUILTY (New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, November 3. A jury in the Supreme Court today found Patrick Jinks, aged 33, a truck driver, of Napier, not guilty on a charge of manslaughter. The charge was a sequel to an incident in the private bar of the Central Hotel. Napier, on the afternnoon of August 16. Mr Justice Shorland discharged the accused. The Crown had alleged that the death of Timothy Francis Macken, aged 43, a 'contractor, was caused by brain hemorrhage caused by a fall in the private bar of the hotel after Jinks had struck him in the face.
