ACCIDENTS
MAN KNOCKED DOWN BY LOCOMOTIVE (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 3. A warder at the Auckland Prison, Patrick Anthony McCahill. aged 43, broke a collar-bone and suffered concussion when he was struck by an engine on the railway line outside the prison this afternoon. Mr McCahill was in charge of four prisoners working near the line. The prisoners gave assistance after the accident, and Mr McCahill was admitted to the Middiemore Hospital. CYCLISTS INJURED A power-cyclist. Mr Frank William McWatt of 14 Buckram street. Waltham, suffered head injuries last evening when he struck the rear of a parked truck in Tuam street, near Nursery road. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 10.50 p.m. A few minutes later, a cyclist, who had been found lying by his machine in Harewood road, was admitted to hospital. He Is Mr Lester Barr, of 5 Gloucester street.
