MINOR FIRES
A small glasshouse at 124 Glandovey road, owned by Mr H. H. Wauchop, was burned down early yesterday morning by a grass fire. The fire began with a spark from an incinerator, and the Christchurch Fire Brigade was called at 1.40 a.m. Extensive damage was done to the roof of a house at 313 Lincoln road yesterday morning. The bouse is owned by Wood Bros.. Ltd., and occupied by Mr E. Fisher. Two units from the Central and Sydenham Stations attended at 11.17 a.m. It is believed that the fire was caused by painters burning-off. Heat from a furnace chimney probably started a fire in the yard of the Paramount Building Company in Weston road, last evening. Roofing and a stack of timber were slightly damaged. The brigade was called gt 7.7 p.m. There was a rubbish fire at 77 Moorhouse avenue at 7.25 p.m. No damage was done.
