G.A.T.T. VOTE ON JAPAN
GENEVA, November 1. New Zealand voted in favour of Japan’s request to start tariff negotiations with a view to acceding to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, it is announced officially. Semi-official information given after the vote had said that New Zealand abstained, with Britain, Australia, Souths. Africa, and France.
