CENSURE OF SENATOR
McCarthy Makes Statement (Rec. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 3. Senator Joseph McCarthy (Republican, Wisconsin) said tonight he would continue his fight against communism regardless of what the Senate did on the recommendation that he be censured. Senator McCarthy made the statement on his first public appearance since a special six-man committee—three Republicans and three Democrats—recommended unanimously, that he be censured on two charges.* The Senate has been recalled to consider the recommendation on November 8. Senator McCarthy was appearing on a television programme. The committee recommended that Senator McCarthy be censured for contempt of the Senate for failing to appear before a 1951-52 elections subcommittee that investigated his finances, and for abuse of BrigadierGeneral Ralph Zwicker when the general appeared as a witness before Senator McCarthy, chairman of the Senate Permanent Investigations Sub-commit-tee. ,
