BARRY BROWN TO FIGHT GEORGE BARNES (New Zealand Press Association) DANNEVIRKE, October 2. Barry Brown, British Empire welterweight boxing champion, will defend hie title against George Barnes in an openair contest at Sydney on November 24. This advice was contained in a letter received at Dannevirke this morning. Brown will have a preliminary fight against Bert Hornby at Sydney on October 28. WILLIE TOWEEL WINS ON POINTS (New Zealand Press association) (Rec. 7 p.m.) JOHANNESBURG? Oct. 2. The. South African bantam and featherweight c 1 ampion, Willie Toweel, outpointed the former American bantamweight champion, Henry (Pappy) Gault, in a 10-round contest at Johannesburg tonight. Gaujt tried’ desperately to get Toweel at close quarters, but on the few occasions he managed to do so Toweel more than held his own. KELLY 1 ' WINS BRITISH EMPIRE TITLE (N.Z.
