Metalwork and Woodwork Teachers A proposal that a course of instruction for metalwork and woodwork teachers should be established in the South Island was made to the annual conference of the New Zealand Technical Education Association by the Auckland Education Board. The chairman of the board of governors of the Christchurch Technical College (Mr M. E. Lyons) reported this to the board. In moving a remit an Auckland delegate suggested that the course should be preferably at Christchurch. “That was moved by Auckland, too,” said Mr R. who was also at the conference. The secretary of the board and principal of the college (Mr D. W. Lyall) said that at present the de-, partment was still getting enoughs teachers from Auckland, but the establishment of a course in the South Island would come sooner or later, and probably sooner.
