TECHNICAL COLLEGE CLUB The opening day of the Christchurch Technical College Amateur Athletic Club was held on Saturday at Ensor's road. The patron of the club (Mr D. W. Lyall) declared the season open, and the president of the Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletics Association also spoke. The outstanding performance of the day was a discus throw of 114 ft lin byMiss V. Sloper. This is better than the Canterbury women’s record of 111 ft 9%in.
