DEATH OF MR D. C. KIDD
ASHES TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO N.Z. (New Zealand press Association) WELLINGTON, September 27. The ashes of Mr D. C. Kidd, Member of Parliament for Waimate, who died at Kimberley last week, would be brought back to New Zealand from -South Africa soon, said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) today. Mr Kidd was cremated on Saturday morning at Johannesburg. The service was attended by Ministers of the Union Government and members of Parliament, all Empire Parliamentary Association delegates, the Mayor of Johannesburg, the president of the Australia and New Zealand Association, and relatives of Mr Kidd. . Among the wreaths received were those from Mrs Kidd and members of the family, the Prime Minister and members of the New Zealand Cabinet, Mr Kidd’s colleagues in Parliament, and two members of the delegation he led, Messrs G. F. Sim (Government, Waikato) and W. A. Hudson (Opposition, Mornington). An official message received by Mr Holland said that the cause of Mr Kidd’s death was a coronary thrombosis.
